  • Estimator | Atlanta, GA

    We are a commercial landscape company looking to hire someone to estimate who has been in landscaping and is computer savvy. This position is highly trainable. Your experience in the industry speaks volumes and if you are excellent at Excel and have great computer skills, we want to talk to you.

    We are seeking an Estimator for our Atlanta, GA office. 

    Summary of Responsibilities

    The primary responsibility of the estimator is interpreting blueprints, performing take-offs, estimating materials, initial pricing and bid preparation, and interfacing with customers to ensure that technical specifications and designs are feasible and consistent with industry standards. Estimator must aggressively follow-up with subcontractors and vendors to ensure that bids are received in a timely manner and shall also work with the sales teams to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    •          Supports sales staff in all bidding activities by taking construction plans and performing complete take-offs, pricing jobs (with sales input), preparing sales proposals and appropriate scope of work;
    •          Maintains organized digital filing system to store all project information;
    •         Maintains proficiency in company’s take-off software and hardware in order to improve efficiency and organization;
    •          Tracks key metrics on bidding activity by end use sector and Account manager such as close ratio, total SF of bids, total $ of bids, etc.;
    •         Interfaces with customers on design and specification issues as well as for clarifying details in plans and blueprints;
    •          Provides technical support to sales team in customer meetings;
    •          Handles customer issues and concerns in a professional and courteous manner that protects the interests of the company and also best satisfies the customer;
    •          Solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendors;
    •         Prepares subcontractor bid packages;
    •          Submits 100% of bids and budgets by the bid deadline.

     

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Qualifications

    •          Knowledge of landscape, hardscape and retaining wall materials and installation techniques
    •          Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
    •          Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with management, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the company.
    •          Ability to utilize appropriate interpersonal styles and methods of communication to gain agreement or acceptance of an idea, plan, activity, product or service from customers.
    •          Absolute understanding of the construction process
    •          Excellent time management, decision making, human relations, presentation and organization skills.

     

    Education/Experience

    •         Two year technical degree or Bachelor’s degree (technical or construction management major) is desired or equivalent experience.
    • Computer literacy and proficient in MS Office products (MS Word and Excel)
    • Proficient in using take off software, such as OST (On Screen Take-Off)

    We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Account Manager for our Atlanta, GA office.

    Responsibilities:

    ·         Perform job functions timely and efficiently.

    ·         Possess a thorough understanding of landscape maintenance principles and irrigation techniques.

    ·         Has a complete understanding of the site design concept and works closely with the client’s onsite representatives to continue the owner’s public presentation desires.

    ·         Conduct monthly walk-thru with clients to ensure quality control; identify and document any/all discrepancies; ensures any/all discrepancies are 100% resolved.

    ·         Continual interface with clients to ensure all their expectations are met.

    ·         Delegate daily assignments to laborers and Supervisors. Provide direction and onsite coordination as needed to maintain highest levels of productivity and to complete the job within labor budget.

    ·         Oversee and review irrigated lines and fertilizer/chemical applications.

    ·         Assure compliance and adherence with plans and owner’s concept.

    ·         Provide safety PPE and equipment to the crews.

    ·         Assure the proper maintenance of all assigned vehicles, equipment and tools in proper working condition and keep them clean and presentable.

    ·         Know how to operate and ensure safe and efficient use of all equipment/tools in the field.

    ·         Professionally represent the company at all times and in all meetings in the field or while operating company vehicles.

    ·         Oversee proper, adequate watering of all assigned sites.

    ·         Maintain and manage accurate timecards for payroll.

    ·         Assess and properly field enhancement proposals/extra scope items of work that may occur on site, and supply procurement.

    ·         Attend Safety and Training meetings.

    ·         Wear Company uniform during each day’s work and ensure compliance by all workers under his/her supervision.

    ·         Arrive on time for work and all meeting relating to his/her position. Set an example for all coworkers.

    ·         Understand and implement company policy and procedures.

     

    Job Requirements:
    US Citizen or possess valid permit with documentation.
    Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
    Associate/Bachelor Degree in related field and/or documented work experience.

    Must have a basic working knowledge of the following:
    • Soil preparation techniques, treatments and amendments.
    • Tree and shrub planting, care, pruning, trimming.
    • Proper usage and handling of chemical and fertilizers.
    • Color, ground cover and vine planting and care.
    • Landscape design concept, plant usage and function.
    • Irrigation and drainage systems installation and troubleshooting.
    • Installation, operation, and programming of controllers, valves and sprinkles.
    • Must be physically healthy to support a considerable job load.
    • Spanish language ability is helpful.
    • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, excellent computer skills

    Landscape Project Manager Job Description
    The Project Manager role is a critical position that is responsible for leading both the office staff and the field staff in the construction of various landscape projects.  The Project Manager will provide leadership to the project staff to ensure a quality, timely and profitable completion of our landscape installation projects. 

    Requirements: 

    •       Pre-plan all jobs with detailed schedule of all phase of the project
    •        Review cost estimates prior to starting the project for accuracy and to make sure that you have all information necessary to complete a successful project
    •       Manage P&L for landscape installation projects
    •       Deliver timely and accurate reports and financials
    •       Ensure that the Landscape Installation division operates safely and efficiently at all times
    •       Review and issue all subcontracts through Baytree’s contract administrator
    •        Manage all subcontractors
    •        Prepare and present all change order requests to our clients. 
    •        Assist with buyout of all material
    •        Represent Baytree with Owners, Architects, Consultants, Vendors and other agencies
    •        Build effective working relationships with clients and all Baytree Team members
    •        Lead by example to create mutual respect between employees, customers and vendors
